Architect Neil Logan designed an earlier version of his Lispenard Sofa Collection (2018) for a discerning art collector who wanted something comfortable but not overstuffed, handsome but not imposing, boxy but also elegantly tailored. The design proved so versatile that the collector’s friends soon started requesting it, and Herman Miller eventually decided to put it into production. Lispenard has a very low profile – it stands a mere 26" high – and a very relaxing sit thanks to the pitch of its seat and back. “So many sofas today have flat seats, but an angled seat makes for a more comfortable sofa,” says Logan. “It holds you in a more natural position for sitting.” Made in U.S.A.
