Hella Jongerius was just beginning her career when she was approached by Maharam and invited to work on a project for its 100th anniversary. Maharam now produces a range Jongerius textiles, many of which are in the permanent collections at the Art Institute Chicago, Cooper Hewitt and MoMA. The Chroma Pillow (2015) features a palette dominated by a neutral weft peppered with eight different warps. Made in U.S.A.

“My main focus when I design an object is the relationship between the object and the user,” says Berlin-based Dutch designer Hella Jongerius. She has been combining her incredible attention to detail with an innovative approach to color to create textiles, rugs, housewares and furniture since she graduated with a degree in industrial design in 1993.
