Details

Glossy on top and sandblasted matte on the underside, the three opal-glass shades in Poul Henningsen’s PH 3/2 Table Lamp (1927) have a 3:2:1 size ratio, which allows them to reflect light downward and slightly outward. The result is a soft, evenly distributed glow that adds warmth to a living, dining, or office space. Featuring a painted-metal or chrome-plated brass frame, the lamp is part of the PH 3-shade family. Bulb (not included): 60W/G16.5/E12. Made in Denmark by Louis Poulsen.

Poul Henningsen

Trained as an architect, Poul Henningsen is best known for a series of lighting fixtures that resulted from his fascination with the then-new technology of the electric light bulb. In 1925, one of these fixtures won first prize for lighting at the International Exposition of Decorative Arts in Paris. The next year it was put into production by Louis Poulsen & Co.
