Venezuela-born Pablo Pardo graduated in 1986 with an industrial design degree from the University of Cincinnati. In 1993, he established Pablo Designs in San Francisco, a studio that has since gained international recognition for its creations. The studio operates with the belief that the right lighting can transform almost any environment, challenging traditional designs with innovative solutions that distill lighting down to its bare essence: form and light. Circa (2013) is a flat-panel LED lamp that combines seamless movement with warm and balanced illumination. Through its 45° shade tilt and 360° rotation, it provides excellent flexibility not seen in traditional ambient lighting. Using just 11 watts, Circa provides surprisingly bright light for its size, and its innovative low-energy LEDs have a 50,000-hour life span.
