A beautiful alternative to plastic bottles, this jug never needs to be stored away and naturally keeps contents cool thanks to the insulating properties of porcelain. It’s handmade by a master mold-maker in Portugal and features a smart-looking upright profile and ergonomic handle.
Details
Perfect for everyday use and attractive enough for entertaining, the Origin Jug (2019) was designed to encourage users to drink local tap water instead of bottled. The natural properties of porcelain keep the water cool, and the large ergonomic handle makes it easy to pour. This jug is designed by Shane Schneck and made by João Monteiro, who runs an Aveiro-based porcelain workshop that creates slip-cast porcelain pieces in small production runs. Made in Portugal.

Shane Schneck is an American designer based in Stockholm, where he founded his Office for Design studio in 2010 after working with Piero Lissoni in Milan. International in his attitude and outlook, Schneck’s ethos is to create simple yet innovative products that challenge industry standards, resulting in furnishings and decor that contain an element of surprise, or are playful in their conception.
