The Studio is located in the Galleria Shopping Center, across 69th Street from Southdale Center, the first enclosed mall in the U.S. A Light Cloud with hundreds of pendant fixtures hangs just inside the entrance, greeting customers as they enter. Deeper inside, 40 fully realized room vignettes with workspace, living, dining and bedroom solutions help visitors envision how to incorporate modern pieces into a home or office. Task chairs and storage offerings abound, along with a large assortment of outdoor furniture by Loll Designs, a company based in Duluth. But the Studio’s most notable feature is arguably the conceptual Lake House, a structure created using local materials (such as basalt, birch, tamarack and white pine) and incorporating the area’s Nordic building traditions. The Studio’s friendly, knowledgeable team is on hand to provide a host of complimentary Design Services, including one-on-one consultations, in-home visits, 3-D renderings of your spaces and plenty of help measuring and dreaming.
