Arthur Umanoff
American industrial designer Arthur Umanoff thought design should be beautiful but attainable. A chief contributor to the midcentury modern movement, he often combined natural materials with new production modes for pieces that embodied his vision. Umanoff graduated from Pratt Institute and the American School of Design in the 1950s before starting his prolific career re-shaping the modern home.
