Manufacturer SKU:
No sitting, please —
Though it sounds like an oxymoron, the Table Bench is proof that two distinct forms – surface and seat – can be united. Crafted of solid walnut with brass edges, it boasts a distinctly midcentury modern aesthetic.
Details
Designed by prolific Danish master Finn Juhl in 1953, the Table Bench was part of Juhl’s “Design in Scandinavia” exhibition across North America from 1954–1957. Juhl famously approached furniture design through the lens of a sculptor, creating human-centric pieces that quickly became icons of the midcentury movement. His Table Bench is crafted of solid American black walnut and finished with untreated brass. Made in Denmark.

Finn Juhl
When you look at the graceful shapes and sensual curves of Finn Juhl’s work, you may be shocked to realize that he designed these pieces 60 to 70 years ago. A pioneering force in his own country, Finn Juhl is also credited, along with fellow Danes Arne Jacobsen, Hans Wegner, Borge Mogensen and Poul Kjaerholm, with introducing Danish modern to midcentury America.
