A classic reimagined —
Charles and Ray Eames imbued everyday objects with unexpected whimsy. Furthering that tradition, their iconic Hang-It-All has been reimagined in new colors and materials through a special collaboration with HAY.
Details
The Eames Hang-It-All (1953) coatrack has been updated in new colors and materials through a first-ever collaboration between Herman Miller and the Danish company HAY. Inspired by archival Eames designs, Mette Hay created a fresh new palette for this iconic piece, and added cast-glass spheres for a play on color, tactility, and light. Rolf and Mette Hay cite the Eameses’ experimental yet rigorous approach as the model for their own process.

Charles and Ray Eames
Design is for living. That maxim shaped a widespread shift in design during the 1940s and '50s. It was a revolution of form, an exciting visual language that signaled a new age and a fresh start – and two of its prime movers were Charles and Ray Eames. This husband-and-wife team's unique synergy led to a whole new look in furniture. Lean and modern. Sleek and simple. Beautifully functional.
