Details

Tom Dixon taps into high-tech to create this striking ceiling lamp. Etch Pendant (2010) is digitally manufactured like a circuit board, allowing the intricate patterns to be cut – or etched – directly into the metal. With its geodesic structure, Etch can throw a mass of interesting shadows in all directions, and when installed in multiples it’s a real showstopper. Born in Tunisia and raised in England, Dixon has a reputation that frequently precedes him. His bad boy mystique – Dixon dropped out of art school following a motorcycle accident and spent time playing bass in a rock band – is intriguing when juxtaposed with his unmistakable talent and emergence as one of England’s most influential designers. Bulb (not included): LED, CFL or incandescent; E26 base; 60W max. UL/cUL Listed. Made in China.

Tom Dixon

Born in Tunisia and raised in England, Tom Dixon’s reputation frequently precedes him. His mystique as a bad boy – Dixon dropped out of art school following a motorcycle accident and spent time in his 20s playing bass with a rock band and organizing warehouse parties – is nearly as recognized as his unmistakable gift for design and emergence as one of England’s most influential designers.
