Fritz Hansen
Fritz Hansen began his trade in Copenhagen in 1872, building a reputation on honest materials and exacting production – a standard his son Christian later sharpened through pioneering steam-bending techniques. That commitment was tested in the 1940s, when a brutal winter killed Denmark’s walnut trees; rather than substitute the wood, the company stockpiled it, using the reserve to produce Hans J. Wegner’s China Chair.
More than a century later, their standards haven’t changed. You can see it in Arne Jacobsen’s Series 7™ Chair – reissued in colors from Verner Panton’s 1970s palette – and new designs, like Jaime Hayon’s Fri Sofa.

Marking his centenary, Fritz Hansen revives the palette he devised for Arne Jacobsen's Series 7 Chair in the early 1970s with a special re-edition: yellow, orange, red, and brown, warming an icon anew.
