Tolix

FOUNDED 1927 (FRANCE)
Tolix

An authentic French design staple After perfecting the art of galvanized steel in the 1920s, Xavier Pauchard trademarked the name of his company, and his Marais A Chair became a standard of café seating in France. Taken over by his sons in 1948, Tolix today still creates Pauchard’s designs to his exacting standards.

Fool-proof solidity, unequalled lightness, and easy maintenance keep the elegance of Tolix metal chairs relevant today. The Model A chair is found in the collections of the Vitra Design Museum, the Museum of Modern Art and the Pompidou Center, and continues to find use in parks, cafés, hospitals and offices. At Tolix the “made in France” claim translates to local development and the quality of manufactured products. Attention to detail, the latest technology and control over their production chain allows Tolix to maintain company standards for its products.
