Work and play
Saying goodbye to busy Brooklyn weekends, photographer Johnny Miller, his wife Marisa, and their two sons spread out and soak up the sun in their airy home in Springs, New York.
On the new normal
“Our boys are very involved in sports and we spend countless hours shuffling them to practices, tournaments, and games. Our days and weekends were always pretty packed. This has all come to a halt and as much as we miss it, it has given us time to breathe and re-evaluate everything in our lives.”
On cooking up new traditions
“Our happy moments are regular family meals (a new routine for us). We eat all our meals on our front porch, which also happens to be our favorite room of our house. The kids are obsessed with the show “Chopped Junior” and have really become interested in cooking and preparing meals.”
“Being home feels really grounding, but it’s not to say we weren't going stir crazy at times, too!” — Johnny Miller
On going from flowerbed to sandbar
“We have come to appreciate our garden, and it’s been so satisfying to be in contact with nature, watching it unfurl. Daily trips to the bay and beach have definitely kept us sane.”
