When designing the Kura Stool (2023), Hlynur Atlason was entirely focused on delivering comfort – whether in homes, restaurants, or offices. The swiveling seat is beautifully upholstered and features a soft, rounded back that embraces the sitter while providing support. The black powder-coated metal legs are gently tapered for a sleek aesthetic, while the round footrest echoes the shape of the seat. An ideal stool from breakfast to cocktail hour to late-night conversations. Made in Thailand.

Hlynur Atlason
Hlynur Atlason grew up in Iceland and studied science at the Sorbonne before he came to New York to study design at Parsons School of Design. After graduation, he stayed in New York and, in 2004, founded his eponymous design studio, which has since designed kitchen utensils, beverage bottles, airline serviceware, cosmetics packaging and furniture.
