Since its founding in 1942, Danish brand FDB Møbler has approached furniture like a pattern maker approaches a garment – critically analyzing the dimensions, angles, and proportions that serve the ways people move throughout their home. The J83B Bench (1962) by Jørgen Bækmark, FDB Møbler’s design director in the late 1950s and early '60s, follows that quintessentially Scandinavian logic in solid wood and handwoven paper cord. The output is a design recognized to this day for its honest materials, enduring function, and quiet durability. Made in Latvia.
