Details
Designer Bill Curry wanted to replace traditional base-with-shade lamps with a single, all-in-one design. He was inspired by the pop culture that would go on to define 1970s California, and gave his Obello Lamp (1971) an organic, space-age form. Its soft glow is created by two LEDs, a brighter bulb facing upward, and a dimmer bulb facing downward into the lamp’s stem. The integrated dual-output LED and frosted shade ensure even light distribution from all angles. Bulbs (included): integrated 2W and 4W LED, 250 total lumens. Made in Denmark.

- On/Off rotary switch on base with dimmer.
- Obello is splash-proof but it should be stored and charged indoors.

Bill Curry
American designer Bill Curry transformed traditional lighting by placing an emphasis on the bulb as an integral part – a space-age concept that was dubbed a “total look” aesthetic. His signature Stemlite Floor Lamp was selected by the US Department of Commerce to represent America in exhibitions abroad during the 1960s and remains an iconic symbol of 1960s California modernism.
