Details

Originally designed in the late 1930s by prominent Danish architect Vilhelm Lauritzen in partnership with Louis Poulsen for the Danish Broadcasting House in Copenhagen, the VL38 Table Lamp is an evolution of the original design. With the same retro styling and softly curved, organic shade, the modern version includes an energy-efficient LED and an adjustable arm and shade to cast light exactly where it’s needed. The powder-coated aluminum shade has a white interior for soft light and the stem is brushed brass. High/low/off switch on base; 10-foot cord. Includes a 2700K 9.6W LED bulb. Made in Denmark.
  • Table lamp with an adjustable arm and shade that’s ideal for working or reading.
  • The white interior of the powder-coated metal ensures soft light.
  • High/low/off switch on base.

Vilhelm Lauritzen

Vilhelm Lauritzen is credited with introducing modern architecture to Denmark in the 1930s when he designed the Daells Varehus department store in Copenhagen – furniture and lighting included. He saw architecture as “applied art for the people, never a privilege for the few,” and went on to design many notable buildings and their interiors, led by his functionalist approach and timeless aesthetic.
