The pioneering lighting designer Poul Henningsen drew from scientific principles to create beautiful multi-shade lighting that offers glare-free, softly diffused light. Glossy on top and sandblasted matte on the underside, the three handblown amber-glass shades in Henningsen’s PH 3/3 Wall Sconce (1925) reflect light downward, with an ambient glow. The sconce is ideal for hallways and in living, dining, and bedroom spaces. Bulb (not included): A19 LED. Made in Denmark.

Poul Henningsen

Trained as an architect, Poul Henningsen is best known for a series of lighting fixtures that resulted from his fascination with the then-new technology of the electric light bulb. In 1925, one of these fixtures won first prize for lighting at the International Exposition of Decorative Arts in Paris. The next year it was put into production by Louis Poulsen & Co.
