Designed by Isamu Noguchi for Herman Miller
Simply beautiful —
A sculptural masterpiece that redefined furniture design, the Noguchi Table offers a perfect balance of art and function. Its pared-down form and natural materials appeal to the eye and hand, while its interlocking wooden base and thick plate glass are durable enough for everyday use.

The beauty of simplicity
Following his apprenticeship with the legendary Constantin Brancusi, sculptor Isamu Noguchi began to experiment in environmental design, theatrical sets – he was the only designer that choreographer Martha Graham would work with – and, eventually, product design. He created his first furniture prototypes for Herman Miller in 1942 and went on to work with companies such as Steuben and Zenith. The Noguchi Table (1948) conceals nothing, revealing everything about the nature of simplicity. Two smoothly shaped pieces of solid wood interlock to form a tripod that supports a thick glass tabletop. The base is available in black, walnut, natural cherry and white ash, the latter of which is finished with a process that arrests the wood in its freshly cut state, resulting in a creamy white color that will not turn yellow over time. This is the authentic Noguchi Table by Herman Miller. Made in U.S.A.
A stamp of authenticity.
To signify its authenticity, this table etched with Noguchi's signature in two places: on the longest edge of the glass tabletop and on a medallion underneath the base. It also holds a registered trademark for its unique configuration.

Isamu Noguchi
Perhaps more than any other midcentury master, Isamu Noguchi blurred the lines between public and personal, between art and design. His career was defined by experimenting, learning and creating. “You can find out how to do something and then do it,” he said, “or do something and then find out what you did.”

An iconic beauty
Such a simple beautiful table. I waited a while to buy this table but knew once I was ready I would buy it at DWR. The day finally came and I love everything about it. I chose the walnut color which is absolutely stunning.

Rosie
I love my new coffee table. I like the fact that it looks sophisticated, yet simple. Easy to clean and take care of. The glass top is nice and thick, so I doubt I can every chip it. It was a great purchase and the sale price helped me make my choice easy.

Table with staying power
A beautiful & great table ... bought the table in Manhattan 1970 from Maurice Villency. If there is one downside to this table, the glass is so heavy! it takes 2 people to move the top to clean it...any tips on how to clean the glass on the original table

A work of art
Noguchi was first and foremost a sculptor and it shows in this lovely table. The design is simple, balanced, and gorgeous. As for function, it is perfect. The glass is thick and sits securely on the beautifully crafted wooden support. The placement of the Noguchi signature is quite subtle; I had to go back to the website for instructions on where to find it. There are knock-offs of this design around, but we wanted the "original" from Herman Miller. The table came with a certificate of authenticity, but I was still quite relieved when I finally found the signature. I am so glad that Herman Miller contines to produce this iconic piece.
