"Sitting is good, but sitting on nothing is more poetic," says French architect and designer Philippe Starck of his Crystal Side Table (2024), which doubles as a stool. A material often associated with fragility, Starck’s glass is tempered and UV bonded to give it a high load resistance. Its transparency gives the illusion of floating, as if the sitter is suspended mid air. It features masterful yet discreet details, such as mirror-polished stainless-steel feet. At once delicate yet substantial, the side table is perfect for living spaces, hallways, or as a bedroom accent piece. Made in Italy.

Philippe Starck

School dropout Philippe Starck jump-started his career by designing two nightclub interiors in Paris in the 1970s. The iconoclast designer went on to define a similarly hedonistic style of design in the 1980s and 90s. His interiors and products have sensual, appealing forms suggestive of character or personal identity, and Starck often conferred upon them clever, poetic or whimsical names.
