Inspired by an unlikely source – the wire shelves inside a refrigerator – designer Hee Welling created the Hee Collection (2004) for HAY. The durable powder-coated finish makes the Hee Lounge Chair suitable for indoor and outdoor use by protecting the solid steel underneath. It features a wide, welcoming seat and stacks for easy storage. Made in China.

Hee Welling
The son of a cabinetmaker, Hee Welling grew up in his father’s shop, right next to the family home in Denmark. Establishing his own studio in 2003, Welling got his first big break with the Hee Chair from HAY, being made entirely of metal, was quite a departure from the cabinetmaking shop. He went on to design one of Scandinavia's most popular and versatile chairs for HAY, the About A Chair.
