Kills plants
I have had this planter since 2017 and have replanted it 3x but every time it traps moisture at the base, develops a rotten smell and kills the plant. I have cleaned and disinfected it between plantings and still, I end up with this disgusting sludge that smells diseased. If you are considering buying one of these definitely put gravel at the bottom (even with the drain holes) and well, I'd advise against the purchase.

Perfect for my rooftop garden
I have two of the extra large cup planters (and two of the small ones). They weathered a Maine winter outside and still look great. I use them for my tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, etc. on my roof top terrace (second year). Love then and am planning to get more. They look great grouped together or standing alone.. remind me of Japanese soaking tubs. I drilled holes on the bottom and added a layer of rocks to help with drainage.
