Details
The Plank Table (2022) is appealing in its simplicity and functional beauty. Its solid teak frame is sturdy, with carefully positioned slats to create an architectural rhythm and also let rainwater drain through easily. It fits effortlessly into any outdoor space, and can be combined end-to-end with additional tables to seat a large group. The table was designed by Paris-born, Copenhagen-based designer Aurélien Barbry, who connects French design thinking with Scandinavian culture. Made from solid teak, the table will develop a soft-gray patina if left to age naturally outdoors. Comfortably seats four to six people. Made in Vietnam.

Aurélien Barbry
Threading the needle of beauty and function, French industrial designer Aurélien Barbry is careful not to tip the scale in favor of form: “My design philosophy is to move objects towards more simplicity and obviousness.” Though direct, his penchant for practical design – including furniture, lighting, and decor – leaves room for the exploration of sculptural, organic, and asymmetric silhouettes.
