Details
Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’s iconic MR Collection began in 1927 with two chairs submitted to the seminal Weissenhof exhibit in Stuttgart, Germany. Over the next five years he continued to add to the collection, including the MR Chaise. Beautifully designed with a tubular steel frame that mimics the curves of the human body, this cantilevered seat makes you feel like you’re floating. Still made to Mies’ exact specifications, this chaise is perfectly balanced, and features the material innovation and lack of ornamentation that epitomize the International Style.

Ludwig Mies van der Rohe
The modern city, with its towers of glass and steel, can be at least in part attributed to the influence of architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
