Regarded as the “chair-maker of chair-makers,” Hans J. Wegner designed more than 500 chairs during his prolific career. He had an intimate understanding of materials and joinery, plus a passion for creating chairs that deliver superb comfort. Two outstanding examples are his Wing Chair and Oculus Chair, both designed in 1960. This Ottoman can be paired with either one. Made in Denmark.

Hans Wegner stands among designers Finn Juhl, Arne Jacobsen, Børge Mogensen, Poul Kjærholm and Verner Panton as a master of 20th-century Danish modernism. More specifically, he was instrumental in developing a body of work known as organic functionalism. His early training included both carpentry and architecture.
