Material research plays a primary role in the creations of Dutch artist and German resident Hella Jongerius, whose works are held at MoMA, Cooper Hewitt, and the Art Institute of Chicago, among others. To create her handwoven Merger Rug (2017), she juxtaposed two colors in a diagonal structure for striking visual effect. As for how she made it so beautiful, Jongerius says, “That’s the secret of the color-cooking chef.” Made in India.
  • Two color elements juxtaposed in a diagonal structure.
  • Handwoven with 80% wool and 20% cotton.
  • Rug pad recommended.
