American designer Shane Schneck designed his Tamoto Bed (2022) for HAY as an easy-to-assemble flatpacked design that it can be easily integrated into any modern lifestyle. Meaning “sleeve” in Japanese, Tamoto features a folded fabric headboard inspired by the draping of kimono sleeves. Schneck’s design ethos is to create simple yet innovative products that challenge industry standards, an approach that’s earned him iF, Red Dot and Wallpaper awards. Made in China.

Shane Schneck is an American designer based in Stockholm, where he founded his Office for Design studio in 2010 after working with Piero Lissoni in Milan. International in his attitude and outlook, Schneck’s ethos is to create simple yet innovative products that challenge industry standards, resulting in furnishings and decor that contain an element of surprise, or are playful in their conception.
