Sarah Ellison
Sarah Ellison is a designer and interior stylist based in Byron Bay, Australia, who launched her eponymous furniture and accessories label in 2017. With a background in fashion design, Ellison worked as a magazine stylist and served as Style Editor of Real Living magazine. Her background may not be the most typical route to furniture design, but in the course of styling hundreds of rooms, she came to intimately understand what it takes to make a room shine. And as the parent of a 7-year-old son, she also knows what’s required to stand up to the rigors of family living, or what she calls “the dive-bomb test.” Her furniture achieves that elusive, coveted mix of high design and incredible comfort and livability.
“My collections are all about sculptural shapes, bold proportions, and juxtaposition of textures,” says Ellison. Living in both Sydney and near the beach in Byron Bay, “I wanted to pull coastal style in a much more modern direction so that it has a refined, elevated feeling but is still relaxed and easygoing."

Notes
I like the idea of having fewer pieces of furniture but making them statement pieces. I don’t think you need to fill a room with lots of things, you just need to have the right things.
