Make room for all.
After earning his degree in furniture design from Kingston Polytechnic in 1979, Matthew Hilton opened a design studio in London, and he’s been creating innovative, classic pieces ever since. The Cross Extension Table (2005) is crafted with the designer’s trademark splayed-leg base for an impressive combination of legroom and stability. The tabletop is finished with a solid wood chamfered edge for comfort and durability, and its locking steel extension mechanism allows for easy opening. Simply pull one end of the table to simultaneously open both halves. Depending on size of chairs, Cross can seat up to 12 people. Walnut table made in Malaysia, oak in Lithuania.
One table, three sizes.
The top expands with a smooth pull, allowing insertion of up to two leaves for three possible table widths: 78.75", 98.5" and 118.25". After guests depart, store the leaves in the felt-lined compartment under the top – no more “find the leaf” drama before gatherings.
