Finn Juhl's Egyptian Chair (1949) is a striking fusion of ancient design principles and modern sophistication. The seat draws direct inspiration from an antique Egyptian chair Juhl encountered at the Louvre, reinterpreted through his sculptural lens. Its distinctive horned frame creates Juhl's signature "room within a room" concept, offering an intimate seating experience within any space. Hand-upholstered in Denmark with meticulous craftsmanship, the Egyptian Chair marked Juhl's international breakthrough and cemented his legacy as a founding father of Danish modernism. Made in Denmark.

Finn Juhl

When you look at the graceful shapes and sensual curves of Finn Juhl’s work, you may be shocked to realize that he designed these pieces 60 to 70 years ago. A pioneering force in his own country, Finn Juhl is also credited, along with fellow Danes Arne Jacobsen, Hans Wegner, Borge Mogensen and Poul Kjaerholm, with introducing Danish modern to midcentury America.
