Details
The 1965 Pendant (1947) was designed by Paavo Tynell for the Finland House in New York, one of the most ambitious and successful projects to showcase Finnish design of all time. Perfecting the techniques of metal finishes, Tynell developed the 1965 Pendant using his exceptional ability to capture and translate a grace and exuberant lightness. With a frosted glass diffuser that softens the light it emits, this pendant contributes to a tranquil environment. Bulb (not included): E26 base, 60W max. Made in China.

Paavo Tynell
Known as “The man who illuminated Finland,” lighting pioneer Paavo Tynell began his career when electricity was in its infancy. In 1918 he co-founded the country’s first lighting company, bringing light to Scandinavia. But it was his ability to create indirect, atmospheric light that led Tynell to collaborate with major architects – including Alvar Aalto – designing now-iconic fixtures and lamps.
