Details
Originally designed in the late 1930s by Danish architect Vilhelm Lauritzen in partnership with Louis Poulsen for the Danish Broadcasting House in Copenhagen, the VL38 Floor Lamp is an evolution of Lauritzen’s original VL38 table lamp. With the same retro styling and softly curved, organic silhouette, the modern version includes an energy-efficient LED bulb and an adjustable shade to cast light exactly where it’s needed. The powder-coated aluminum shade has a white interior for soft light, the stem is brushed brass, and the organically shaped base is die-cast aluminum. 10’ cord with integrated high/low/off foot switch. Includes a 2700K 9.6W LED bulb. Made in Denmark.

Vilhelm Lauritzen
Vilhelm Lauritzen is credited with introducing modern architecture to Denmark in the 1930s when he designed the Daells Varehus department store in Copenhagen – furniture and lighting included. He saw architecture as “applied art for the people, never a privilege for the few,” and went on to design many notable buildings and their interiors, led by his functionalist approach and timeless aesthetic.
