The Mattia Rug (2016), designed by Hanne Kortegaard, is handwoven by masterful artisans on a traditional punja loom from pure New Zealand wool and just a bit of polyester, featuring ends with bands in subtly graded hues and thick fringe. Her company, Linie Design, is a member of Care & Fair, an organization created to help fight illegal child labor and improve living conditions of carpet knotters and their families in India, Nepal, and Pakistan. Made in India.

Hanne Kortegaard

Hanne Kortegaard studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and after freelancing as a designer, she took a design job in 2012 at Linie Design, a rug maker in Copenhagen. "I think my design is always quite minimalistic and simple. I never add any details without a reason."
