Celebrating the legacy of George Nakashima.
You’re invited to a rare opportunity to explore the life and work of George Nakashima. An MIT-trained architect, Nakashima found his inspiration through woodworking and cabinetry, eventually creating designs for Knoll, Inc. From February 23 through March 17, DWR Scottsdale will display an exhibit of original furniture from Nakashima’s home, rare prototypes and one-of-a-kind pieces. His daughter Mira, a designer and writer in her own right, will join us for three of the events, including a book signing, presentation and tour of the home of famed Nakashima collectors Dr. Arthur and Mrs. Evelyn Krosnick, conducted by Mira. A schedule of events at the Scottsdale Studio follows:

Living with Nakashima: Mira Nakashima will conduct private tours limited to 10 people each of the Krosnick Home. RSVP to scottsdale@dwr.com with preferred tour time. A required $20 minimum donation will benefit the American Diabetes Association.

Living with Nakashima: Presentation by Mr. and Mrs. Krosnick at DWR Evelyn Krosnick will talk about their relationship with George Nakashima, about the furniture he built for them and how he rebuilt all of the pieces after a fire destroyed their home.
