Additional Information

Elegantly minimal.

Early in his career, Italian designer Luciano Bertoncini had a chance meeting with the legendary Joe Colombo, who chose one of Bertoncini’s products to feature in his catalog. The exposure he received from that placement led to an invitation to contribute to the famous 1972 exhibition Italy: The New Domestic Landscape at MoMA in New York. Today, Bertoncini designs furniture out of his studio in Treviso, serving the needs of global clients. It takes a skilled designer to make a metal bed look elegant rather than institutional, and his Min Bed (2003) has been a best-selling product in our assortment since its debut. Combining high-quality materials and expert construction with a basic slat platform, Min provides constant ventilation for your mattress (crucial for memory foam). Made in Italy.

Subtly smart.

A celebration of simplicity, Min reveals much thoughtfulness in its design upon inspection, with a streamlined form and details such as curved edges and corners that help protect shins and toes. Its sleek form also maximizes accessibility to the space under the bed, for those who use that area for storage (who, me?). Bed ships flat; simple assembly required.

  • High-quality materials and expert construction.
  • Curved edges and corners for a fluid look and forgiving feel.
  • Slim frame maximizes space for storage under bed.

But that doesn’t seem to bother him. “Bertoncini is neither envious nor bitter,” says Virginio Briatore in the introduction to Bertoncini’s 1999 retrospective. ...
