The Ghost Buster Nightstand (2002) – designed by Philippe Starck and Eugeni Quitllet for Kartell – is a postmodern homage to the classic commode in transparent or batch-dyed PMMA plastic. Minimal in form, substantial in material integrity, it functions as both storage and sculptural presence. Open shelving maintains its visual lightness for a piece that inhabits a room without dominating it. Made in Italy.
  • Reinterprets the traditional commode through a postmodern perspective.
  • Molded from a single sheet of PMMA plastic, creating a weightless yet durable structure.
  • Open-front compartment provides accessible storage while maintaining its visual lightness.
  • Kartell Ghost Buster in transparent or batch-dyed colorways, designed by Philippe Starck and Eugeni Quitllet.

Philippe Starck

School dropout Philippe Starck jump-started his career by designing two nightclub interiors in Paris in the 1970s. The iconoclast designer went on to define a similarly hedonistic style of design in the 1980s and 90s. His interiors and products have sensual, appealing forms suggestive of character or personal identity, and Starck often conferred upon them clever, poetic or whimsical names.
