After perfecting his farm-style table for several years, Danish industrial designer Jacob Plejdrup finally declared it complete. Sporting a wonderfully unexpected dual-plank tabletop united by metal pegs, his sturdy Gather Table (2016) is sure to draw attention in any space. It’s built with a core of solid poplar, an extremely stable hardwood that offers superior resistance to warping and cracking. For additional protection and eye-catching appeal, Gather is then finished with wood veneer that’s three times thicker than what’s commonly used, as well as solid walnut or oak banding that runs the length of the table and solid end-grain to cap off each plank. In addition to being beautiful, these solid wood edges offer protection from chairs. Exquisite wood grain traits – including sapwood details on the walnut table – make each Gather Table a one of a kind. Depending on your chairs, the small table can seat up to six people, the medium up to eight, the large up to 10. Made in the Czech Republic.
