The Backflip Folding Chair (2026) adapts to life, not the other way around. Icelandic designer Gudmundur Ludvik’s debut for HAY, it's engineered to fold, store, and set up in moments. The convient construction is straightforward on the surface – solid wood, molded plywood – but a hidden mechanism lets you open and close it with a single hand by rotating the backrest. As extra seating or an everyday set, Backflip is a great chair that just happens to fold. Made in China.
