Following years of notable work throughout Italy, Gio Ponti was elected to design the Pirelli Tower, perhaps his crowning achievement. Throughout his prolific career, Ponti was also known for furniture, especially chairs. A minimal piece with a refined, clear form, his lightweight yet strong Leggera Chair (1952) effortlessly adapts to different spaces.
