The Spaghetti Side Chair (1979) takes its name literally: dozens of slender PVC rods are woven across the back, above a clean, flat seat. Giandomenico Belotti's design for Alias – the brand's first product – helped establish a new industrial language: rational, precise, and radically minimal. What the construction suggests in austerity, it delivers in comfort; the rods flex with the body in a way rigid materials can't. Nearly 50 years on, the chair holds its place in the permanent collections of MoMA and the Triennale Milano. Made in Italy.
