A Danish modern classic, the Kaia Extension Dining Table (1951) by Niels Otto Møller harmonizes form and function with exceptional craftsmanship. Also known as Model 9B, it pairs a precisely crafted top with solid wood legs that gently taper to create balanced proportions, reflecting Møller’s woodworking expertise. The table extends with leaves hidden underneath, allowing it to easily accommodate more seats. Reissued by J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik – which Møller founded in 1944 – Kaia was recognized at its launch and earned the Good Design distinction, an initiative established by the Museum of Modern Art and the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. Made in Denmark.

Niels Otto Møller

In 1944, Niels Otto Møller founded J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik in Denmark. “My father never compromised on anything,” says Niels’ son Jørgen Henrik Møller. “Each design took him five years to complete.” This work ethic is why the Møller collection is relatively small for a company that’s been around for more than 70 years, but that’s what makes Møller so special.
