A twist on the traditional Japanese paper lantern, the Hashira Ceiling Lamp (2024) features a semi-translucent linen shade that reveals a linear, graphic frame within. Shaped from welded steel and wrapped in handmade linen, the lamp sits flush against the ceiling and lends a soft tactility while emitting a diffused, ambient glow. Hashira is a poetic embodiment of the approach Copenhagen-based designers Norm Architects take “to create minimalist designs that whisper rather than shout.” Made in China.
