The Adnet Coffee Table (1950) is a masterful union of leather, glass, and metal. It exemplifies modernist architect and designer Jacques Adnet’s Art Deco style as well as his commitment to craft. The table’s round glass top is edged with a handmade leather rim and finished with equestrian-inspired gilded brass rings. It sits elegantly atop a trio of curved steel legs, also upholstered in leather, which meet at the table’s center. This design grew out of Adnet’s partnership with fashion house Hermès in the 1950s, when he was one of the first designers to combine leather with glass, creating his iconic round Adnet Mirror.
