Defined by organic curves and uncomplicated angles, the thoughtfully proportioned Penguin Wooden Lounge Chair (1963) by Ib Kofod-Larsen has become an icon of mid-century design. An angled profile allows relaxed positioning, while slender legs add stability and visually balance chair's flowing form. Elegant yet ergonomic, it’s an ideal match for every moment of your day – from morning coffee to evening conversations. Made in Latvia.

Ib Kofod-Larsen

As Danish Modernism expanded globally in the 1950s and ‘60s, architect Ib Kofod-Larsen became one of the most exciting figures of the movement. A trained cabinetmaker, his furniture is marked by subtle details, organic lines, and a visual lightness. Celebrated pieces include the Penguin Chair and Seal Chair, as well as Module U56, renamed the Elizabeth Chair after Queen Elizabeth II acquired two.
