SW50 Sofa
Details
Best known for his chairs and seating, Illum Wikkelsø designed the SW50 Sofa (1959) with the conviction that proportion, comfort, and craftsmanship are inseparable. Its low, elongated profile sits open and inviting on an exposed wooden base that feels architectural and light – a departure from Wikkelsø’s penchant for organic forms. Reissued by GUBI and exclusive to DWR, the SW50 is an exemplary piece of Danish modernism: functional, durable, and as relevant now as it was during its era. Made in Denmark.
