Nordic Minimalism
Nordic Minimalist
Embracing simplicity and purity, but always with warmth, this aesthetic focuses on an appreciation of craft and natural materials. Its roots are found in the Royal Danish Academy where Hans Wegner, Arne Jacobsen, and Jens Risom studied under Kaare Klint.
Elements of the style
Clean lines free of ornamentation
Natural materials, especially light woods and woven materials such as paper cord
A deep appreciation for craftsmanship and handcraft
A white and neutral palette to add light during long winter nights, with bright sparks of color and pattern
“One cannot create happiness with beautiful objects, but one can spoil quite a lot of happiness with bad ones.” — Finn Juhl
