Care & Maintenance

With regular care and maintenance, your Herman Miller product will provide many years of superior performance and satisfaction. To maintain quality, please follow the cleaning procedures outlined here.

The instructions for the care and maintenance of Herman Miller products are provided to you as a service. No warranty is implied since results may vary.

For normal cleaning, wash the laminate with a soft cloth and a solution of mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth. For minor repair of burns or other stubborn marks, apply a nonabrasive liquid kitchen cleanser with a soft cloth soaked in warm water. Rub in the direction of the grain; use caution to avoid damaging the surface texture or gloss. If no grain direction is visible, rub with a light, circular motion. Do not use powdered abrasives or other harsh cleansers like hypochlorite bleach, hydrogen peroxide, nitric or hydrochloric acids, or lye; they may deface the surface and change the finish color.

Coated Metal

For normal cleaning, wash coated metal surfaces with a soft cloth soaked in detergent and warm water; rinse thoroughly and dry. Remove scuff marks from low-gloss coatings with pre-softened paste wax, following the manufacturer’s instructions. Remove scuff marks and scratches from high-gloss coatings using automotive polishing compounds, either liquid or paste. After polishing, apply a pre-softened automotive paste wax to restore original sheen. Stylish, sturdy, simple.
Excellent table. Stylish, sturdy, simple. I was a bit surprised it required assembly (just attaching the legs) but that literally took maybe 10 minutes max. There is a perfect sense of human scale to this table. And the white laminate is not too bright. The little details matter, and they shine with this product.

Good desk
The place where I work is furnished with old Herman Miller desks and chairs, so I felt comfortable trusting the durability of Herman Miller products and decided to get the Everywhere Desk. I've had this desk for half a year now, and it looks pretty much like new except for a few tiny dings I've made. The desk is made of engineered wood with laminate top and sides; the underside is not laminated, and is just a homogenous brown. After 6 months of daily use, there are no signs of laminate peeling. I bought the light brown walnut desk and like how it looks. Screwed onto the underside of the desk is a long and sturdy metal bar, which I assume is to help bear the weight of a desktop and computer monitor. The chair legs are designed to provide some more support to the tabletop as well, as their attachments to the desk have a rather large surface area and require the use of several screws. Overall, I am very impressed with the design of the table - it is very well-built. I bought the table on one of Herman Miller's seasonal 15% off sales with free shipping, and for less than $500, this was a fantastic deal.

Way too short
Unfortunately the table is really short. It's difficult to sit under and Herman miller office chairs do not fit under the table. So weird that this is not a normal height.

slick and modern
It is a slick and modern table -- simple and sophisticated looking but also very functional. It is relatively easy to assemble.

Minimal, stable, solid, functional, beautiful
Using this as a home office desk. Fits perfectly with my minimalist design aesthetic. The off-white blends in with the standard apartment wall color. Desk practically disappears when not in use. Perfect height (with glides). Sturdy - no wobbling. Solid - don't anticipate bowing due to metal bar on the bottom which is also incredibly functional - can use as a channel for cables, can zip tie a power strip to it for added outlets.

Love that there are different size options for this piece, too.

Putting it together was fairly easy for one person - though would recommend two as it's not very light (24x60). And definitely recommend a power screwdriver or drill vs. manual but can be done manual with some elbow grease.

Very reasonably priced for such a well-designed and put together desk that I believe will last for years.

Nice layout space, sturdy, easy set up, look good (even in a study)
I picked up a couple of these work tables a week ago. The quality is industrial grade (good). The finish is high design grade.

My goal was to convert a small spare bedroom into a more complete study. I chose a 60X30 + 72X36 pair of tables. I butt them together long end-to-long end. This combo provides ample space for my desktop computer, plus an extra layout table for paper studies other temporary computers, you name it. They have casters and roll easy when I need to convert the room to a guest room.

I put a premium on clean worktop space, whether at work as an engineer or in my home. This combo of tables may be a bit of an indulgence for a 7' x 11' study. But they fit my bill.

Plus the maple tops go great with my black PaperMate Flair!

Top quality
Ordered this table for my husband's home office. My husband was very impressed with the fact that this table has 8 screws to secure each leg. It looks and is very light, but the way it is designed makes the table stand solidly without any swinging.

I use this as my primary work space in my home office, and it functions perfectly and has a most beautiful profile.

Great Value, Great Style, Not Great Packaging
You might not notice this piece right away, but it makes everything on it or around it look better.

The top is dense and heavy. When assembled, the table is sturdy, and absorbs vertical impacts such as typing and writing with virtually no wobbling. With some effort, you can wiggle the table from side-to-side. I have the 24 by 54 inch version, so this may not be the case with a larger table.

The white laminate looks sharp but isn't blindingly bright. It's a shade creamier than a white sheet of paper. The laminate is slightly rough, like an eggshell, which gives the table nice tactile depth.

When putting the table together, I recommend using a longer screwdriver bit for the screw holes closest to the post leg. I messed up the underside of one of the legs because the bit was too short and the drill chuck scraped the leg finish.

The biggest downside of this table is that it was not packed well. The top arrived with two dented and chipped corners. I had to wait another two weeks for Herman Miller to send a replacement top in another flimsy box. Also, I wish the underside was painted white instead of unfinished brown MDF. Oh well! I still recommend this table as a clean, crisp workspace to help you think in a clean, crisp way.

Amazing desk
Huge fan of this table. Purchased it as a desk for my home office due to being a full time, remote employee. Incredible balance of quality, function and design. Just a heads up that when you receive the box of legs they seem incredibly short; however, they are the perfect height.
