Designed by Michael van Beuren in 1941, the Alacrán Chaise is an icon of organic modernism – recognized that same year as a winning design in the Museum of Modern Art’s “Organic Design in Home Furnishings” competition. Now reissued by Luteca, its sculptural form is updated with all-weather cane webbing, paired with a finely crafted wood frame that adds warmth and structural clarity. Gently contoured curves support the body intuitively, while two adjustable recline positions invite effortless repose outdoors.
