Details

Designed by Hallgeir Homstvedt for esteemed Norwegian textile house Røros Tweed, Bislett (2020) is inspired by the track at the famous Oslo stadium that it’s named for. The overlapping curved and straight lines intentionally create a Moiré effect: the interference wave pattern typically seen when fine stripes or houndstooth patterns appear in digital photos or videos. The blanket is woven entirely from Norwegian lambswool, a natural fiber possessing inherent durability and warmth thanks to free-grazing sheep. Made in Norway.

Hallgeir Homstvedt

Halligeir Homstvedt sums up his philosophy as an attempt “to simplify as much as possible in order to get to the essence of the product.” Even in aesthetically driven product categories, he designs for improvement on what’s come before. The result: timeless, functional, tactile designs that engage the user.
