Description

Designer and sculptor Brian Alexander has always been fascinated by the way people interact with their environments and the objects around them. By studying people’s behavior, he gets a sense of what they find intuitive, which he then works into his creations. “I try to slip people little affirmations through my designs, things they can identify or connect with on a very basic level,” he explains. “You can see it in their faces, the reactions they have when something flows with them rather than against them.” A holder of 20-plus patents for office furniture and accessories, Alexander clearly knows his way around the workplace and what people need to be comfortable and productive in it. His Renew Desk (2013) lets you go from sitting to standing and back again so you can keep moving throughout the workday – vital to improving energy and focus and to lowering health risks associated with a sedentary lifestyle. Its motorized lift operates easily with an intuitive lever: pull up to raise, push down to lower. Beyond adjustability, Renew also sports ample legroom and beveled edges for eliminating bumps and bruises, and concealed screw heads for a sleek finish. Simple assembly required. Backed by a two-year manufacturer's warranty. Made in U.S.A.

Great desk - exudes quality design
Well built, classic style... lift motors are much quieter & stronger than other sit-stand desks I've used. Supremely happy with this desk. BTW - runs slightly smaller than specified. ( contract vs consumer measurements ) so IRL the 30" x 60" O/D is a true 28 7/8"d x 57 7/8"w.

Power gets in the way
We use these desks at my job and I'm constantly hitting my knees on the casing that covers the cables and power block. For some reason the case sticks out about 3-4 inches below the desk and is situated right where you knees would be. Real deal breaker for me as I have to sit at a distance from the desk that I find awkward in order to avoid hitting the cover or raise the desk to a level I find uncomfortable.

Just for reference I'm 5'11", 160lbs

I'd probably love the desk if they found a way to move the power block and cables either to the sides of the desk or to the very back (out of range of your legs)

Splendid
It is especially helpful for changing position as the back begins to ache.

It's a wonderful table!!
I have physical issues that require a need for a mix of sitting and standing while I work. This table answered all of my needs and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another one.

worth it
Expensive but worth every penny.

High quality, great design. I had high expectations for this desk, and all my expectations were met or exceeded. There are few things I have purchased that I have been so satisfied with after the purchase.

I would recommend you try it out in a showroom if at all possible.

I would also recommend that you do not consider assembling this on your own. It's a sophisticated piece of furniture, let the company arrange for assembling this for you.

Note, contact Herman Miller if you have any questions prior to ordering, their reps are pros and are very helpful.

Bit Pricey
Product is nice but it's overall appearance and design doesn't justify the price tag.
